Established in 1997 as Donald Blair Architects, Helen Mui and Brian Dowd became principals in 2011. Michael Mandeville and Verena Koenig became associates in 2015. Blair + Mui Dowd Architects, PC has completed multiple projects for long term clients including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, The University of Rochester Medical Center, The YMCA of Greater New York, Temple University Health System, and Columbia Memorial Hospital. The firm’s projects consist of functional programming & master plans, new buildings, renovations, and adaptive reuse of existing facilities.

B + MD’s design process is research focused, and each principal led project begins with benchmarking recent trends and built examples. We establish long-term relationships with our clients by providing exceptional client service including project management; extensive programmatic and architectural/engineering evaluation for existing facilities; functional programming; expansion, contraction, and phasing options; return on investment (ROI) analysis; conceptual design; and full architectural design. We manage projects with large and complex consultant teams including multiple engineers, associate architects, specialty laboratory designers, cost estimators, and construction managers.
